Biography

Abigail Lysinger will begin to pursue a Masters of Music in Vocal Performance at the University of Houston in the fall of 2023. 

An alumna of the University of Michigan School of Music, Theatre, and Dance (BM Vocal Performance), she appeared in four operas with the Michigan Opera Theater as an undergraduate; as the 2nd Lady in Die Zauberflöte, Lapák/Woodpecker in The Cunning Little Vixen, and the chorus of La Bohème, and covering Maggie Hobson in the workshop of Tom Cipullo's new opera Hobson's Choice. With the University of Michigan Chamber choir, she has had the opportunity to premiere and perform in works such as Bach Magnificat (soloist), Considering Matthew Shepard by Craig Hella Johnson (soloist),  Amass by Jocelyn Hagen, and Door out of the Fire by Christopher Theofanidis. Abigail has  studied at the American Institute of Musical Studies, and will be a Studio Artist at Teatro Nuovo in the summer of 2023.

Her pre-college studies included singing in the Children's Chorus of Greater Dallas, The Dallas Opera Children's Chorus, and the Dallas Symphony Children's Chorus. Then, she also had the opportunity to be under the direction of Jaap van Zweden, Graeme Jenkins, Richard Giangiulio, Maria Guinand, Z. Randall Stroope, Melinda Cotten, Cynthia Nott and Nora Henson.
